Sunday, 10:48am. Suka Espresso Café - Ubud, Bali.

Getting a 12-hour head start on my usual Sunday night deadline.

Small wins!

After 150 hours and 17 days of Meditation Teacher Training, the final day is upon us.

And one of my biggest takeaways has nothing to do with meditation at all.

But rather, a form of personal development I wasn’t expecting:

Speaking my mind.

For years I’ve held back on speaking my mind to avoid relational conflict.

But I recently found myself in a conversation where someone was voicing an opinion I completely disagreed with.

So rather than holding back, I did something bold -

I spoke up.

I embraced a moment of courage and spoke from my heart, with conviction, about what I believed.

I was proud of myself.

I didn’t say everything I wanted, but it felt like massive improvement.

And reminded myself that although it wasn’t perfect, I was “better than yesterday.”

Improvement.
Small wins.

Speaking honestly and with integrity - while also keeping alternative perspectives / life experiences in mind.

The next couple of days unsurprisingly provided additional opportunities to speak up, speak with conviction, and continue to practice this respectful honesty.

And I’m walking away from this training with a newfound self-confidence.

Yes - for many aspects of the meditation training itself,
but also for who I’ve become.

Confidence.
Self-Respect.
Honesty.

So the next time you feel your heart wants to speak up, needs to speak up, go for it.

You’ll know the feeling.
Your body always knows.
Listen to it.

Plus - someone else might need to hear it.

And your courage can create a ripple effect for others.

One closing ceremony, written exam, and team dinner to go -

Then it’s back home!

Still with absolutely no plan - but trusting and knowing my intuition will guide me in the right direction,

and enjoying the adventure of a wild ride at the same time (more on this to come).

P.S. - last week I wrote about making the most of life’s opportunities.

This week I want to remind you to laugh.

We’ve done some deep work during this training - emotional, heavy, hard, necessary.

But man - I’ve also laughed my ASS off these last couple of weeks.

Like when a friend went up for her final meditation presentation and shared,

“I’m going to start by standing, because if I sit I think I’m going to fart.”

I laughed.
And laughed.
And laughed.

It was so funny.

And a great reminder to not take life too seriously.

So going into your week, remember to laugh.

And if needed, let it rip 💨

🧘‍♂️ Mindfulness Tip of the Week

Tip: Sensory Mindfuness

Action:

  • Enjoy the richness that life has to offer by intentionally noticing the senses in your every day life

  • Sight, Sound, Taste, Touch, Body Sensations

  • Can you notice the shapes, colors, and textures around you?

  • The intricate flavors of the food you eat?

  • The wonderful sounds you might have never heard, unless intentionally listening for them?

Value: This Meditation Teacher Training has reminded me of the beauty and richness life has to offer. By simply bringing more awareness to the present moment experience.
